Responding to Hurricane Katrina

at Wiggins, Mississippi

Four men of Meridian Avenue Baptist Church, along with three men from other churches of our region, headed towards Wiggins, MS on September 26, 2005.  Their mission was to assist with the clean up task left in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

The men joined others of the American Baptist Churches USA denomination to serve as a part of the ABMen's Disaster Relief program.  A ministry dedicated to assisting with the clean up following disasters.

During their week of service these seven men removed uprooted and/or fallen trees from the properties of four families in and around Wiggins.  Their efforts, combined with the efforts of so many others, has made a large impact for many in need of assistance.
